INTRODUCTION

School of Transformation – Equity College was established to serve the needs of our community. The unfortunate reality in our society is that there is a high percentage of teenagers either not completing their schooling career or barely getting through to a substandard Grade 12 certificate. To alleviate this problem Equity College focuses on remediation while reinforcing employable skills.

We offer:

  • Classes with a maximum of 14 students
  • A structured environment
  • A course focused on skills development and employability
  • Vocational, skills-based training, bridging the gap between the classroom and the workplace
  • Remediating language and numeracy skills

What kinds of opportunities does the course offer?

We offer access to workplace opportunities in a work environment or sector relevant to each learner’s desired vocational specialisation. In South Africa the Hospitality industry contributes 11 % to the GDP and now your child can become part of this lucrative industry. Our culinary programme offers everything an aspiring chef would need to reach the top of the career ladder.

The QCTO (Quality Council for Trades and Occupation) Certificate allows for your child to study further and attain a national qualification. It is our aim to develop and nurture learners both academically and emotionally so that they may make a positive contribution to their own future growth as well as the economy and society as a whole.
